Trips
- Taiwan (March): trekking through the forest in alisan, late night walks with grssm, half a tea leaf egg in sun moon lake and warm kumquat tea in the freezing weather.
- Haiyat/Krabi/Phuket (July): overcrowded bus to krabi, rock climbing in railey beach, thai iced tea and thai vitagen, bbq steamboat with the thais, star glazing by the beach.
- Bali (September): sunrise, horizon, first birthday out of singapore, rafting with a 4m drop, an even more amazing star glazing experience at my room’s balcony.
- Siem Reap/Bangkok (January 2012) – included because i will forget about it by the end of 2012: angkor wat, bayon, angkor thom. left siem reap feeling more depressed than ever because of the story behind khmer rouge. train ride to bkk with a layer of dust, thai traditional wedding.
excluding short trips, i only travelled once a quarter. it is not as much as most people thought! in 2012, i am going to limit myself to once every 6 months! india and somewhere?
Work/Studies
- joined and left senoko. overhauling turbines and spoiling a lot of motors at the same time. tiring but fun.
- started PhD, gotten used to having no life with lessons ending at 10pm, a lot of politics, still trying to figure how to regain my initial passion for it without letting external factors (low pay, no life, crappy professors) drain it away!
while typing this blogpost, i did something unimaginable by most of my coursemates. dropped a module and took up a #1 killer module. backup plan: airforce? GE? NIE?
